INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT
DEDICATED TO INTEGRATE PLAYERS WITH DISABILITIES
„VILNIUS OPEN 2011“
International chess tournament dedicated to integrate disabled chess players “Vilnius Open 2011” will be held from Saturday 19th November until Monday 27th November in Vilnius, Lithuania, “HOTEL PANORAMA” hotel, Sodų g. 14.
Lithuanian and foreign chess players – persons with and without disability are invited to participate in an open chess tournament registered with FIDE. Tournament is open for chess players with disabilities (vision, hearing, mobility) without any restrictions and for chess players without disabilities rated less than 2300 ELO FIDE on the 1st of November, 2011 and non having FIDE titles of GM (Grandmaster), IM (International Master) or FM (FIDE Master).
Individual chess tournament will be played according to the FIDE Laws of Chess in Swiss system of 9 rounds, with time control of 90 minutes with an addition of 30 seconds per move to starting from move one.
The total prize fund of the tournament – 12 000 litas (1 euro – 3,46 litas) is guaranteed if there are more then 70 players participating in the tournament; additional prizes for best results in groups will be
awarded only to groups that will be not small-less than ten participants.

Participants will be ranked and awarded based on their individual scores; in case of a tie of two or more participants the awarding of prizes will be determined using the following tiebreak system:
1. The Buchholz Cut 1 (the Buchholz Score reduced by the lowest score of the opponents). 2. The Buchholz System (the sum of the score of each of the opponents of a player). 3. Greater number of victories, 4. The progress coefficient.
The money- prizes for 1- 3 positions will be divided according to the Hort system among the players with the same final score.
All travel, lodging and any additional expenses shall be covered by the participants or by the sending organizations.
Sponsors of the event offered the limited number of packages for accommodation with great discount to players who will register and express their need for accommodation in the early stage of the registration period:
12 EUR per night per person in a shared room of 4 persons including breakfast in hotel “Ponas Tadas”;
16 EUR per night per person in a shared double room including breakfast in hotel “Hotel Panorama”;
30 EUR per night per person in a shared double room with full board (three meals a day) in barrier-free hotel “Hotel Panorama”.

In your letter please specify the following data: your NAME, SURNAME, FIDE ELO rating, FIDE title, name of the federation which you are representing, a
contact phone number and e-mail address; please specify whether you will have accommodation needs or help to obtain a visa, include information about your disability.
Participation fee if the registration is made 1st November, 2011 - 30 EUR;
Participation fee if the registration is made after 1st November, 2011- 40 EUR.
Players must arrive and register in venue of tournament in the hotel "Hotel Panorama" at the conference hall on Saturday 19th November. Players with disabilities must provide a certificate of disability at registration. Registration starts Saturday 19th November at 11.00 and ends at 15.30.
